Frequently asked questions
Do I need a LiDAR device?
No. LiDAR scanning needs an iPhone Pro or iPad Pro, but any iPhone or iPad running iOS 17 or later can plan a room by entering the dimensions manually.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Workshop Planner works fully offline — there's no account and nothing is uploaded. Your projects are saved on your device.
Can I use imperial measurements?
Yes. You can switch between metric and imperial at any time; everything stays accurate to the millimetre internally.
How do I add my own equipment?
Use the catalogue of common machines, benches and storage, or add a custom item at any width, depth and height. You can note power type, dust extraction and whether it's on a mobile base.
Can I export or print my plan?
Yes. Export any plan to PDF or PNG from the editor to print it or share it.
I re-scanned and my items moved — why?
Re-scanning replaces the room shape and openings with the new capture. Placed items are kept but may need repositioning against the new walls. You can undo a re-scan if needed.
